At Charlotte Area Driving School, we are dedicated to providing high-quality driving instruction courses to new drivers, including both teens and adults. We understand that every driver has unique needs, which is why we offer flexible schedules and personalized training plans to ensure that all of our students become safe and confident drivers.

About Us

We have been serving the Charlotte area since 1995, and our team of experienced and licensed instructors is committed to providing the highest level of service to our students. Our number one priority is to ensure that our students develop and maintain safe practices on the road and learn the art of defensive driving. We believe that there is no substitute for classroom instruction with a knowledgeable instructor and that real, behind-the-wheel training can only be achieved by actually getting behind the wheel.

Driving Instruction

Our driving instruction includes the following topics:

• Approaching intersections and dealing with traffic signals and signage
• Abrupt stops
• Reverse driving
• Effectively stopping, starting, and parking your vehicle
• Shifting to a lower gear on a hill
• Appropriate use of turn signal and horn
• Turning
• Use of lanes
• Following another vehicle
• Passing
• Yielding right-of-way to pedestrians and other vehicles
• Driving posture
• Three-point turns

We offer both in-person and online driving instruction, as well as packages for teenage drivers that include 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of in-car instruction. Our normal rates for driving instruction are $60 for a 1.5-hour long class, $400 for a 6-hour package, and $650 for a 10-hour package. We also offer a special rate of $210 for the DMV road test, which includes a minimum of 3 hours of instruction. Anything over 3 hours is charged at a rate of $35 per 30 minutes. Additionally, we offer a teenage drivers education course for $475, which includes 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of in-car instruction.

Teen Online Drivers Education Course Schedule

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not currently offering in-person teenager drivers education classes. However, we are proud to offer our 2024 Online Teen Drivers Education Course Schedule. Classes are available on weekdays and weekends, and lunch is provided from 12:00 - 1:00pm. To sign up, please call or text us at 704-458-2391.
